Top Ten Christmas Gifts To Stand the Test of Time

Here's a description of my own top ten Christmas gifts that I think you'll find to be timeless; this list will stand the test of time and be relevant every year. Still, if you're like me, then you probably have a wish list of presents that's a mile long so it's pretty difficult to pare it down to a top 10 list of gifts for Christmas. Anyway, I'll give it a shot and begin with music, specifically the ability to play music. Harmonica is pretty easy to learn, so if you want to play blues music in particular, then a packaged set containing a harmonica with a tutorial book will be just the thing. I'll learn to play while driving everyone else in the room completely nuts on Christmas day!

Staying with the learn to play music theme, another present on my top ten list for Christmas is an electric piano. I've always wanted one. It takes up little room and with a pair of headphones, I could tickle those imitation ivories for hours on end and not disturb anyone. It would be nice to have sheet music to learn to eventually play such jazz classics composed from greats like Oscar Peterson and Herbie Hancock. I suppose my top ten Christmas gifts should include something more practical, so I'd ask for a new pair of Winter boots. I hate Winter and the only thing that keeps my sanity is a pair of warm feet in snug, furry boots.

Food is always a welcome gift! Let me at some sinful treats like Belgian chocolate truffles and English breakfast marmalade. Good fine wine makes a great gift. Being practical still, you couldn't go wrong with a few woolly sweaters, and I could always use an electric blanket to stay toasty warm throughout the cold winter months. I always like to receive books at Christmas. Anything to do with Harry Potter whether it be a book or DVD, I definitely want them. A lot of people enjoy getting a nice bottle of perfume, a welcome addition to see under any Christmas tree. Almost any brand will do, as long as it's French!

Well that's just about a wrap for a top ten Christmas gifts list, more or less. I really don't mind what people get me as long as it's given with love and they've kept the receipt! As much as I love getting gifts, the best thing about Christmas to me is the giving of presents. I love to find just the right thing for loved ones. They make lists too, but I always get them a surprise that isn't on the list as well. Sometimes, I'll buy tickets for a show I know someone wants to see. As for gift cards, I used to be opposed to giving those because it looks like no effort was made in coming up with a thoughtful Christmas gift. But I've changed my tune on that one - I think they're great because the person you give it to can get whatever they want, which is helpful to you, the gift giver, in the case that you don't know what they might want or need. Top ten Christmas gifts for kids and teens in general are anything in the electronics department, whether it be an Ipod or accessories, cell phones, DVDs and players, or the latest computer games. Technology changes fast but it's always a hot item for Christmas gifts. The classic board games maintain strong appeal however, and you can't go wrong with the good, old train set or doll's house, or Legos, or Play-Doh, or puzzles. These are the types of thing that will always be on a top ten Christmas gifts list.
